HOPE stands for Houston Organized Poker Enthusiasts. We are an organization of dedicated poker players who eat, sleep and breathe poker.
Our mission is to keep poker alive, legal, safe, sane, and thriving here in Houston. In our opinion, which is based on voluminous news reports and open-source material available publicly as well as from our own deep personal experiences, a man like David La should not be able to outwardly do the kinds of things that he apparently sanctions at his Legends Poker Room right here in our home town of Houston.
This website is based on factual information, well-sourced material, documentation, first-hand experiences, interviews, and other well researched background information. We essentially are a single-focus news, opinion, commentary, satire and information website focused on the Houston poker scene. We embrace the First Amendment as publishers, writers, analysts and editors and take full advantage of the power of freedom of speech and the freedom of the press afforded by the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
We love poker, we love Houston, and we want nothing more than to see both thrive. What a thrill that would be – just like turning over that last card to find an ace and land a royal flush.
